Legal integration of DB Schenker and BAX Global in China in March. Opening of Quanzhou, Nanchang, Pingxiang and Wuhan offices.

2007
Legal integration of Schenker and BAX Global in Hong Kong and Macau in June.

2006
New structure at DB Logistics. Acquisition of BAX Global. Schenker has entered in a joint venture with the company StarTrans International, Hong Kong. Opening of Chongqing Office. Schenker China Ltd becomes the Official Freight Forwarding and Customs Clearance Exclusive Supplier of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Establishment of Schenker China Ltd. Opening of a new Multi-function Logistics Centre in Beijing at the Airport Area (16,000 sq.m.)

2004
Opening of Zhongshan Office. Establishment of a new Multi-function Logistics Centre in Shenzhen at Futian (19,750 sq.m.) and in Shanghai (15,000 sq.m.) Opening of a new Hong Kong Logistics Centre in YKK Building, Tuen Mun (17,000 sq.m).

2003
Official Supplier to the IOC for freight forwarding and customs clearance services for the Olympic Games (Athens 2004, Turin 2006, Beijing 2008). Established the International Technology Cooperation Centre (BITCC) an A-Class licence logistics joint venture in Beijing. Acquired ISO 9001 certification, after successfully implementing ISO 9002 for 8 years.

2002
Deutsche Bahn takes over majority of Stinnes. Schenker acquires 25% equity stake in Shanghai Expotrans Ltd. Dongguan office opening.

2001
Establishment of logistics warehouses in Shanghai and Hong Kong. Inauguration of the Advanced Warehouse Management System. Implementation of e-LOG, to enable customers to check cargo status and place bookings via Internet. Deployment of Schenker E-business Strategy for online price requests and cargo tracking. Opening of Schenker office in Shunde.

2000
Launch of the Schenker Hong Kong homepage ( www.schenker.com.hk) to facilitate online shipment booking and cargo tracking enquiries, as well as provide up-to-date corporate information. Opening of Fuzhou office.

1998
Schenker Hong Kong launches Internet-based Customer Information System (CIS). Adopting of High Availability Strategy, using UNIX cluster and Service Guard Software to provide reliable IT services to customers.

1997
Schenker looks back on 125 years of history. In partnership with Lufthansa German Airlines, Schenker Travel became the exclusive Lufthansa City Center in Hong Kong . Opening of offices in Shenzhen and Wuxi.

Opening of Changchun office.

Schenker Hong Kong successfully acquires ISO 2000 certification for Air, Sea, Fairs and Removal and Project services. Implementation of PC and TCP/IP Local Area Network. Opening of Chengdu and Xian offices.

Opening of Macau, Qingdao, Nanjing and Ningbo offices.

Opening of offices in Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Hangzhou and Xiamen.

Opening of Dalian office.

Stinnes AG acquires a majority stake in Schenker from the German railroad company Deutsche Bundesbahn and divides the business into Schenker International (air and ocean freight) and Schenker Eurocargo (European land transport).

1989
Launch of SWORD (Schenker’s Worldwide Online Real-time Data Network) and EDIFACT standards for worldwide electronic data transfer.

1986
Opening of Shanghai office.

1984
Establishment of Travel Division.

Opening of Beijing office.

1981
Opening of Guangzhou office. Schenker is one of Hong Kong’s first freight forwarders to embrace advanced computer systems to handle daily shipping operations and documents, and provide up-to-date cargo information to customers.

1979
Establishment of Schenker fairs and exhibition service, and developed into a multimodal freight forwarding and logistics company.

1975
Starting of regular charter flights from Hong Kong to major European countries.

1972
Schenker becomes the official freight forwarder for Munich Olympics. Coinage of JETcargo, SEAcargo and Eurocargo as trade marks for bulk transportation by air, sea, rail and road. Establishment of ocean freight and project services in Hong Kong.

1968
Opening of the first Taiwan office in Taipei.

1966
Establishment of Schenker Hong Kong as an air freight forwarder.

1947
Subsidiary established in the U.S. internationalization and air freight are pursued on a large scale.

1931
Schenker is acquired by the German Railways. First ocean freight container shipments.

1922
First air freight shipments in Germany.

1901
Gottfried Schenker passes away in Vienna and is succeeded by his adoptive son Dr. August Schenker-Angerer.

Branch offices established in Budapest, Hungary, Bucharest, Romania, Prague, Czech Republic and London, England.

1873
First consolidated rail consignment from Paris, France, to Vienna, Austria.

1872
